Cavusoglu: Turska će izvijestiti UNESCO o promjeni statusa Aja Sofije

Turska će izvijestiti agenciju Ujedinjenih nacija za kulturu, UNESCO, o mjerama koje je poduzela po pitanju istanbulske Aja Sofije, izjavio je u ponedjeljak ministar vanjskih poslova Mevlut Cavusoglu, nakon što je Ankara tom muzeju vratila status džamije.

U petak je najviši turski administrativni sud presudio da je pretvaranje građevine iz šestog stoljeća u muzej nezakonito, a predsjednik Recep Tayyip  Erdogan proglasio ju je džmijom. Cavusoglu je govorio u intervjuu za državnog emitera programa TRT Haber, prenosi Reuters.

UNESCO je saopćio  petak da će razmotriti status tog spomenika kao dijela svjetske kulturne baštine nakon Erdoganove objave. Aja Sofija bila je vizantijska crkva devet stoljeća prije nego što ju je Otomansko carstvo pretvorilo u džamiju.
